  • Metal hose has the advantages of light weight, small volume, high pressure, corrosion resistance, high and low temperature resistance, fatigue resistance, good flexibility, etc. It can absorb vibration, compensate for installation offset and pipeline displacement, and is widely used in aviation, aerospace, ship and Weapons and other fields. At present, metal hoses on aero engines are often used to compensate for manufacturing deviations and thermal deviations, while compensating for large motion displacements has not been applied in the development of large and medium-sized turbojet and turbofan engines in China. In this paper, the ability of the metal hose to compensate for the displacement of the tubular shape during operation is analyzed and studied.

    The metal hose is welded by the mesh part and the joints at both ends, wherein the mesh body is welded by a metal bellows, a pipe, a ring and a wire mesh sleeve. Limited by the structure of the metal bellows, the metal hose cannot be excessively bent and subjected to axial load, and the life is greatly shortened when subjected to torsional stress or alternating stress. Therefore, the metal hose needs to be properly installed and fixed in a limited space on the engine, and it is also difficult to meet the motion displacement compensation requirement.
